Smoker's Destination #1

77 year old female smoker...
admitted to hospital with chest pain, shortness of breath, and rapid heart beat

says she "can barely get around because she can't breathe"

general findings are a large pleural effusion (fluid around lungs), mass on right lung

echocardiogram findings (cardiac ultrasound) are enlarged right sided heart from vasoconstriction in lungs. Lung pressures are now effecting ablility of the heart to pump blood.

... one good example of why to quit.
